Free Speech!; NOT!

Kathy Griffin lets loose the f-bomb. Again.

This illustrates why I don't watch CNN much at all. Their values are so out of whack with mine that it is painful to watch.

They apologized for Griffin's behavior. However, considering that she did it before and got invited back, they really don't care. And, they know that the FCC has no teeth. If the FCC assesses a fine, CNN'll just run to court, where the court will throw the fine out.

If Thomas Jefferson were alive today, he'd surely say, "That's not what we meant by free speech!" They meant political, philosophical, and religious free speech. Ideas. Not vulgarity. If the Founders had been told what would be construed as free speech today, I'm sure they'd've qualified it--or abandoned the idea altogether!

Another bit of "free speech"

As much as I absolutely loathe everything the man stands for, I cannot abide such exercises of free speech. Criticize what he says and does. Do so in harsh terms. But to imply such a threat or to play off on his race is beyond the pale.

Shame on whoever hung the effigy. What a disgusting way to behave!
