I'm TRULY surprised that there isn't ANY discussion on this board considering the Terrorist attack that was put upon OUR men and women that serve OUR country freely and voluntarily last week. Why aren't the "Civil" people of MY country OUTRAGED about this terroist attack at Ft. Hood? There were 14 innocents killed. Don't forget the unborn. This is the ONE site I expected to see the righteous outrage about this terrorist that was allowed to enlist in OUR military. If there isn't a response to this, I will NEVER be on this site again, and I will know that I will tell Dr. Laura that this site is a sham.

Hi Cindy. Long time, no read.

Anyway, no one seems to be reading this board anymore, so I have tended not to post new topics. I sincerely hope that does not mean that the site is a sham. I think that it means that folks only find uncivil discussions exciting. When required to be civil, they find political and religious discussions boring.

Oh well.

On topic: I find it disgraceful that the mainstream media and the government aren't seeing this incident as a terrorist attack spurred on by a violent interpretation of Islam (which seems to be the obvious interpretation). This is clearly an Islamic terrorist attack. It my not have been of the scale of 9/11, and it may not have been a planned and coordinated like 9/11, but it was motivated by the same hateful and murderous ideology. It was indeed the first Islamic terrorist attack in the US since 9/11. I think it is no coincidence that we had no further such attacks during the previous administration yet had one during the first year of this administration.

From a different angle, American service members were wounded and killed in what is obviously a continuation of the action in the war that Islamic terrorists are waging on the US. These service members deserve to be awarded Purple Hearts. Of course, that would require an acknowledgment of the War on Terror by the current administration. That ain't gonna happen. And that's a shame.

Final point: The terrorist should be tried by court martial, with the death penalty on the table. If justice is served, he will be found guilty and, after a speedy appeal, executed. If he is indeed paralyzed, I would not object too strenuously to a life-without-parole sentence.

Back off-topic: I would be happy to keep reading and posting here. I just won't be the only one. If you want stuff to read, you must write also. This ain't a blog. It's a message board.

Eye95,
I'm really happy that you did respond to me. It does feel good to know that there is someone else out there that feels the outrage that I have felt since 9/11/01. The days since the Ft. Hood attack have saddened me. I'm not even sure how I should feel. I do know I feel outraged and furious that some A-H was allowed to be a part of the same military that I joined and claim to "love this United States of America". When I put my hand up and took the pledge, it meant something special to me. I meant EVERY word I said in that pledge. I know you did, too. Thanks for responding to me. It means more than you will ever know.
Thanks,
Cindy Delancey
