I am not too familiar with Dr. Laura. I mostly only know about her through this site, but have been interested with what she seems to promote - common sense, civility and self responsibilty - and supporting marriage and familes! So I tried to watch last night, but when I tuned in, it seemed to be election stuff. Later I flipped back and it was Dr. Laura, but sadly by then I was falling asleep. The little I remember seeing included her giving suggestions for a successful marriage (be less selfish and stick through the tough times). I remember being impressed with her emphasis on civility but I was too sleepy to remember any details. Maybe it will be online somewhere. |

She has a radio show on from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm EST on many AM talk-radio stations. Sometimes, stations air her show at different times. She is a bit brusque sometimes--and I like her for it. If a caller is doing something stupid or immoral, she says so. That ruffles feathers. But, those feathers need ruffling. Dr. Laura's main theme is pro-kid: Do what it takes, whatever the sacrifice, to safely and lovingly get your kids to responsible adulthood. Larry, for the most part, tossed softballs. It did creep through that he had an underlying disrespect for what she does. And, he did ask one inexcusably vile question about her son who is currently serving in Afghanistan. He brought up an Internet rumor that Dr. Laura thought had been laid to rest. When he asked the question, I said something along the lines of, "I can't believe you are asking that!" The exact words that came out of my mouth came out of Dr. Laura's a split-second later. (Great minds and all, ya know!) I think you'd like the values she espouses. |

| I love Dr. Laura. That's hpw I found this forum. I listen for about an hour most days. I figured he might try and sneak a question like that in there. I got her newsletter earlier about it. I need to read it. |
