Too many trolls use foreign email addresses (particularly from former Eastern Bloc countries), redirected email addresses, or email addresses from sites selling porn or drugs. For this reason we have implemented a new validation procedure. It is friendlier than our old procedure, but just as effective at keeping the trolls and spammers out. Please bear with us. If you are a genuine poster, you will find the extra effort to register worth while. If you are a spammer or a troll, you will be stopped cold. It doesn't matter whether you believe me or not, you will be stopped, so go ahead, Mr. Troll, waste your time, and try to post here. Here is what you can expect: 1. You will not be allowed to register if you are under 13. 2. If you get past this part, you will have to provide a real email address to register. 3. At that point, you are validating. You will be able to read small parts of the board. You will only be allowed to post in the appeal forum, where you can talk to an admin to solve any registration problems. Shortly after registering, you will receive a validation at your real email address. Click the link in that email. 4. You will then become a "new member." Again, there will only be a small part of the board that you can see. You will still be limited to a single forum in which you can post. Please post to the admins, telling us about yourself and why you'd like to participate. After one or two posts, we will either promote you to "member," allowing you access to almost the whole board, or we will delete your account because you have proven to be a troll. Most accounts don't bother to validate. Those accounts are automatically deleted after a few days. We will manually delete any account that fails to post within a week of becoming a "new member." These procedures keep out site blessedly troll-free. Check it out. There is zero spam! If you are a spammer, we strongly recommend that you do not waste your time. If you have something real to say, please go through the process. It really isn't that hard, and we are anxiously waiting to hear from you. |
