If the board disappeared from view for an hour, it is just because we changed our provider of domain name services. Look for the all-new eye95.com, coming soon. This board will become a subfeature of that site.
We hope you enjoy your visit.

You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. This means you are limited to certain areas of the board and there are some features you can't use. If you join our community, you'll be able to access member-only sections, and use many member-only features such as customizing your profile, sending personal messages, and voting in polls. Registration will allow you to join in the discussion which is amazingly free of personal rancor and trolls!

We are currently looking for posters from both the left and the right who have a demonstrated capacity to discuss fervently without letting personalities get in the way. Is that you? We need more staff.

Civility URL Will Be Changing

It appears, based upon recent activity, that our url has been made available to some spam sites who have given it to spamming trolls. The best thing we can think of to slow them down is to change the url. To minimize the effect on our posters, here is what we'll do:

1. Delete spamming accounts. These are accounts with fewer than 5 posts and no recent non-spamming activity. To avoid deleting non-spammers with low activity, we won't delete any account for anyone we know or anyone who a known poster vouches for. Also, if you make non-spamming posts in the next week, your account will be preserved. If you PM a staff member in the next week or so, your account will be preserved. We must make sure we do not give the new url to any spammers. We hope that we do not inadvertantly delete any non-spammers, but there is a chance that a lightly used account may accidentally be deleted.

2. Once we have cleared out the spammers, we'll email all remaining members with the new url. Please be sure that your account is set to receive emails from the administrator and that your spam filters won't block our email (or make sure you check your spam repository for our email). We won't be posting the new url on the site until after the changeover. The email is the only way you'll get the url.

3. For about a week, the site will be available under both the new and old urls. During this week, please change your favorites (or whatever device you use to connect to us) to point to the new url.

4. After that week is up, we will drop the old url and it will evaporate into the ether, much to the confusion of the trolls.

If you have any questions, please post them in the Suggestions Forum. We're sorry for any inconvenience.

We will be sending out an email this weekend to the remaining members with the new url. We pruned about half the members who either had no posts or who had been inactive for a while and had fewer than 3 posts.

Both urls will take you to Civility for a week. Please change over to the new url sometime this week. The old url, forums.eye95.org, will be turned off next weekend.

Thanks.

Beginning tomorrow, only the new url will work. If you don't know it, please PM a staff member.

If you are reading this message, you accessed the board via it's new url. The old url of forums.eye95.org no longer works.
