Coming from the Author of The Da Vinchi Code, yes that man Dan Brown, my faveourite author at the moment, its another thriller with religious ties, a particular interest to me. This Book evolves around the Vatican and a plot to blow up the whole Vatican, the foundations of a faith. WHat better group than to conspire but the Illuminati, the infamous anti-religious group. The Story brings back Tom Hanks...... sorry i mean Robert Langdon for another rollercoaster of a journey, accompanied by a beautifull but brilliant scientist (its not right that she is very appealing to me :D ) they have to follow the path of illumination to save the Vatican. Like the Da Vinchi code this is full of twists and turns, and just when you think you know what that twist will be, it twists in a completerly different direction, a masterfull use of locations and historical fact/fiction combined with a page turner suspense to keep you reading more and more. By the end of the book, i had learnt about sculptures, and some things about the Vatican which i didnt know, so not only a thrilling read but also a sourse of learning, the way Dan does this is brilliant, a Modern day thriller mastermind. I am currently reading another of his books Digital Fortress which has started just as exhilirating as Angels and Demons finsished, although this time he has introuduced new charachters (Although they carry the same charachter Traits as his previous ones) and has strayed away from religion as a source. Angels & Demons = ********* out of 10 |

Let's see... how to put this delicately?
;) Is Angels & Demons written in the same... style as Da Vinci Code? I have to admit, the references to the plot of A&D in DVC intrigued me, and I wouldn't mind getting a full account of what came before, but Brown's use of the English language in the latter wasn't exactly to my taste. |

The only way to reply to that would be yes
:D it is quite similar, i enjoy that style of writing but could understand that it is not for everyone.
:D Even if you dont like the style of the writing, it is a very good story ;) |

Oh, man! This is a little delayed, but the Colbert Report had a hilarious bit about Dan Brown last night that I had to share. Apparently, he shares my opinion of Brown's literary skills. Interestingly enough, the lede for the piece revolves around Belle, the lifesaving beagle, about whom I posted here. Be forewarned, this might be a bit upsetting to Brown's fans (as well as Fox and Friends viewers): Colbert on Belle, Brown, and Hemingway. But remember, it's only comedy. :) (Apologies in advance for making you sit through a commercial.) |

No offense taken it was pretty funny actually
 I can not reitarate enough that my liking for Dan Browns book is not for his Literacy skills, more for the complete story. :D I have gone on from Da Vinchi Code, Angels and Demons and Diggital Fortress to the last of his books that i have yet to read......... Perception Point. So far it is not as good as Da Vinchi Code and Angels and Demons but it is still pretty good, well im enjoying it anyway. :D |

I'll give you that: Brown knows how to write a page-turner. Despite being a completely mockery of both the English language and reasonable narrative form (not to mention reality, but then again, this is fiction we're talking about) , I ripped through The Da Vinci Code like I had something to prove. Therein, I think, lies his popularity, and there's something to be said for it. I can't tell you the number of times, during the course of reading The Da Vinci Code, my internal dialogue ran along the lines of: "Oh, come on! That's ridiculous... I can't wait to see what happens next!" |

| I know this is a waaaay old topic, but I just had to say that I loved Angels & Demons. The Da Vinci Code was okay, but A & D was much more interesting to me and more exciting. Liked it a lot. |
