Boston Globe (scroll down): "But the Sox are facing formidable competition for Lugo. The Mets are interested in him as part of a bigger deal that would include closer Danys Baez, whom the Mets envision as a setup man for Billy Wagner."

Lugo would be a solid solution at 2B. However, getting rid of Matsui would have to be part of the deal. That means to get both Lugo and Baez and have Matsui taken off our hands is going to cost. We will have to pay part of Kaz's salary and give up some good players. I worry about who.

The Sox have Loretta at 2B, so Lugo might be moved to SS. If the Sox resign Graffanino (which is likely) Graf will be a bench player.

The Rays may have Lugo listed as a 2B, but he has played 460 more games at SS throughout his career than at 2B. He even has 14 games in the OF! That being said, I hope the Sox don't get him and he plays 2B for the Mets rather than SS for the Sox! :P

Nah, I think Matsui is a great player......the one that plays in the other part of New York.
