The Mets signed Bret Boone to a minor league deal. He has no guarantee of making the big club, but, if he is added to the 40-man, his salary will be $1 million with a potential $500K performance bonus.

This is a great move. If he doesn't pan out in ST, he will cost us virtually nothing. If he returns somewhat to form, he could be an inexpensive bench player. If he returns to form (highly doubtful), he will be a bargain-and-a-half!

This signing is the definition of low-risk/high-reward.

Yeah, you are right. Highly doubtful. I think this is the definition of a low risk/low reward deal.
