If the board disappeared from view for an hour, it is just because we changed our provider of domain name services. Look for the all-new eye95.com, coming soon. This board will become a subfeature of that site.
We hope you enjoy your visit.

You're currently viewing our forum as a guest. This means you are limited to certain areas of the board and there are some features you can't use. If you join our community, you'll be able to access member-only sections, and use many member-only features such as customizing your profile, sending personal messages, and voting in polls. Registration will allow you to join in the discussion which is amazingly free of personal rancor and trolls!

We are currently looking for posters from both the left and the right who have a demonstrated capacity to discuss fervently without letting personalities get in the way. Is that you? We need more staff.

How To Be Civil; and what happens if you are not

Free Speech is something the government promises not to violate. At Civility, we only promise not to restrict your speech as long as you are civil. The following are not considered "civil," are subject to moderator edits, and have consequences.

----------

Minor incivility:

Non-vulgar profanity (If most people would not have routinely used the word to talk to Mom when they were 7, it is profane.)

Name-calling (Do not call others names, even if they do not post here. Moore is spelled M-o-o-r-e, not M-o-o-r-O-n.)

----------

Major incivility:

Violating any of InvisionFree's Terms of Service

Spamming

Vulgarity, including vulgar profanity

Ad hominem attacks (Go ahead and be blunt in judging what a person says and does. Do not make comments about the person himself.)

Racism (This does not include intellectually pointing out a well supported fact.)

Calls for violence

Threats

Violating the privacy of another person--member or not.

----------

At mod discretion, minor incivilities will increase the warning level by 1. The post will be edited or deleted.

Major incivilities will increase the warning level by 2.

When the warning level reaches maximum (5):

First time - 1 day suspension
Second time - 7 day suspension
Third time (you just don't get it.) - Lifetime. You may reapply to me personally after 1 year. I will most likely say, "No."

After suspension, warning levels will be returned to 0.

After a month of no warnings, members who have been a member all month and who have posted during that month will have their warinin level reduced by 1.

-----------

Trolling by new members can result in immediate banning without going through the warning system at the administrators' discretion. Trolling is loosely defined as joining a site and posting on it just to be antagonistic.

-----------

Commercial advertising, particularly by brand new members, may result in immediate banning instead of warnings at the administrators' discretion. After the banning, you may appeal it in a section that will become visible to you upon your banning. You will only be able to see a few threads and only post in the appeal thread.

Even just a single commercial advertisement by a new member, Admins will likely automatically assume that the new poster is merely a spammer and take immediate action.

"Men when they're out of work tend to become abusive."
