I agree that public teachers are emplyees of the taxpayers. We have every right to their employment record. Absolutely! Discipline within the professional organization that I work in is handled as confidential as well. (I am a coach). I was a victim of a minor physical assault (twice by the same coach) and significant verbal abuse. There were also violations of professional codes and egregious behavior since this coach's arrival in the area. All the area coaches and athletes had to deal with her behavior. When her assault against me finally came to a "review board" all that coach's past violations were not available to the board. Ultimately the coach was required to take anger management classes and was put on national probation, but I was told it was all confidential; it would be a violation to discuss what the review board was about or how it came out! |
